Tajikistan contains approximately half of all the Marco Polo sheep population of the world and offers one of the best Marco Polo Argali hunts you can get. Over the last 12 years the hunters enjoyed 100% success. Average trophy size runs from 55 to 56 inches with several 60-62 inches rams taken every season. An outstanding 68 inches Marco Polo ram was taken in 2003 by our client Sheik Mohamed. Tajikistan is also a good destination for hunters seeking for Mid-Asian Ibex trophies. The average trophy in Tajikistan is 1,05 meter - 1,10 meters, with some trophies taken of 1,12m to 1,15m. Over the last 17 years the hunters enjoyed 90% success.
In the morning you get into your jeep. Horseback hunt is not available in Tajikistan. During the day you will explore the upper edges of the mountains, glassing the hillsides and feeding areas. Once the trophy is located you complete your stalking on foot. You hunt at 14,000 feet / 5,000 m. Physical condition is a factor on the stalking portion of the hunt. A long range shooting, up to 400-500 yards/m is usual for Marco Polo Argali hunt.
Camps - In Tajikistan the camps are located at 12000 to 13500 feet. They are wooden structures. The clients are taken to the famous "Hot Springs" camp. It is warm, clean and comfortable with separate areas for dining, bathing and sleeping and has electrical generation. You will find good food and quality service. Every camp is equipped with a satellite-phone or radio station, and the first medical kit.
