THE HUNT

The hunting grounds on Mbizi cover 200 km2 of privately owned big-game area and inhabit different game species like Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, Thornicroft's Giraffe, Kudu, Roan, Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Klipspringer, Sharpe's Grysbok, Puku, Zebra, Hyena, Warthog, Bushpig, Chobe Bushbuck, Impala, Reedbuck, Grey Duiker, Hyena, Civet Cat, Genet Cat etc..

The safaris are one client to one Professional Hunter, two to one or two to two and those who do not wish to hunt but merely observe are most welcome.

You can choose from a variety of safaris: From a 7 day Antelope Hunting or Buffalo Hunting, to 21 days Dangerous Game Hunting, from 10 day Crocodile and Hippopotamus Safari / Roan Antelope Safari to a classic 14 days Leopard hunt – they can cater for all wishes.  

They can also tailor-make your safari to include other game species such as Black Lechwe and the elusive Sitatunga in the Bangweulu swamps of Northern Zambia given sufficient notice. With the own airstrip at Mbizi, different areas of Zambia can be reached with ease. 

After arriving you will be met at the airport in Lusaka and we assist you with the declaration of the rifle and ammunition. Onward travel to Mbizi is either a 350km drive, taking approximately 4-5 hours, or a 45 minute flight direct to Mbizi from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Lusaka).

THE LODGE

They offer their guests first class accommodation in 3 secluded chalets. Great attention is paid to the smallest details, including the finest Egyptian cotton bedlinen, daily laundry service, high speed satellite internet connection and off course 24 hour electricity from their own solar energy system.

From the chalet, via exotic rosewood decking lit at night with traditional oil lamps, you can reach the dining area and the lounge...Here you can relax with a good book and a cold drink from the Hemingway Bar...

The decking continues to become a platform with a magnificent view over the Luangwa River. From this vantage point a variety of game can be watched as they come down to drink from the river which is also a fantastic spot for birdwatching.
