Elk, Mountain Lion and Pronghorn hunting in New Mexico

Hunt huge Elk Bull and Puma in Unit 55 - New Mexico

Pronghorn - Elk and Mountain Lion hunting USA

In New Mexico we offer some of the best Elk, Mountain Lion, Bear and Pronghorn hunting in the United States. New Mexico is the country of Monster Elk. The hunting area Unit 55 (also known as the Valle Vidal) produces monster bulls and excellent rutting action, thanks to balanced bull-to-cow ratios. Our private land hunts take place either on the Chase Ranch in north-central New Mexico or the Ponil Ranch. The Ranch is 20.000 deeded private acres with many miles of common fence with the Vermejo Park to the east and Cottonwood and Philmont Ranches to the north and east. The Chase Ranch is located to the north and east of Cimarron, New Mexico and has been owned by the same family since 1872. With other private Ranches we have access to over 40.000 acres of hunting ground. There are lots of Bears in the area – so our Elk hunts are the perfect opportunity for a combo hunt. There is no extra charge for bear hunting – only a 1000 US$ kill fee if you shoot one. Here we also harvest every year strong pronghorn trophies.

Mountain Lion Hunting in New Mexico - The mountain lion is a magnificent trophy, but an extremely elusive animal, requiring the aid of well-trained hounds. We hunt on food, horseback, from four-wheel drives and snowmobiles, depending upon weather conditions. Fresh snow is always welcomed, but not absolutely necessary. We catch several lions each year on bare ground. We get up very early in the mornings and travel the roads looking to find where Mt. Lions have crossed the roads and turn the hounds loose once we find a good track. The New Mexico season runs October through April. We try to harvest only mature toms. The big toms are the trophies. Lion hunts can be combined with Black Bear. Licenses are purchased over the counter. Everything but License is included, Lodging, Guiding, all in-hunt transportation, meat and trophy care.

Lodging will be in a rustic comfortable lodge facility with double rooms, bathrooms, showers, warm and cozy common quarters. Meals will be very good traditional plain fare to keep you well fueled for a successful trophy elk hunt. The kitchen is open to you at all times with plenty of snacks, beverages and we can cater to special diets with advance notice.
